This past weekend I drove down to Nashville* to attend UtopYA Con, a new conference put on by the absolutely fabulous Janet Wallace. We spent three days completely focused on YA paranormal books. We talked about reading them, writing them, and marketing them. We laughed. We cried.** We learned stuff. We found out about CMT's Katie Cook's Twilight obsession.
One of the best parts of the weekend for me was meeting so many other writers. Unfortunately, the Tammy-itis*** kept me from doing much of the after-hours hanging out, but there were some spectacular people who managed to wrangle a conversation out of me during the day despite my social awkwardness which rendered me unable to be clever or well-spoken. **** As a "thank you" to all those other authors, I'm giving away a $10 Amazon Gift Card so you can go and buy some of their books!
How it works:
1. Leave a comment below telling me which of the UtopYA authors you are most excited to read. (Authors listed below)
2. Submit the entry form no later than 11:59 CST on Friday, July 20.
3. The winner (as chosen by the Random Number Generator) will receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card!
So, tell me, which of these UtopYA writers are you most excited to read next?*****

* My first conference as a writer? One block off the Vanderbilt University campus. Yeah, that's the place where Scout and Alex went to watch the play, held hands, and had that "incident" in the woods.
** Okay, so maybe it was just Chelsea Fine and me crying at Myra McEntire's keynote, but that video was very touching.
*** Or, as The Great Askini has me referring to it now, The Chronic. (Different illness, same emotional journey.)
**** Kind of like when I try to write blog posts.
***** UtopYA ladies (and Adam & Jamie), please let me know if I accidentally left someone off!
